The short answer is, that war is the most effective way to extract money from a society, which is the true objective of the current fiancial system.

While the corrupting power of money is no secret, it's extent in shaping history is not commonly recognized. As 'live blood' of any modern economy, it's power increased with their increasing complexity. In parallel it thoroughly corrupted all parts of society and it's institutions. Politicians of all parties, law and it's enforcement, media, science, education were bought by the power of money creation and allocation to serve the agenda of the money masters.

Fanciful stories were created, to justify wars and oppression, hide true beneficiaries and to glorify exploitation. Anglo-Saxon and later Anglo-American exceptionalism for the external agenda, calvinist ethics morphing into eugenics for the national agenda propagating that the few are wealthy because they are devinely chosen or specially gifted and not because they have rigged the system. Laws increasingly protected the rich and enabled them to extract even more money from the poor. When the latter protested it was brutally suppressed and when they stole out of desperation it was severely punished to the extent of capital punishment. Science is largely directed to serve warfare and exploitation. Education was shaped to produce obedient subjects and medicine corrupted as detailed in Rockefeller Monopolization of Medical 'Science' .

With the current effort of the Oligarchies to destroy nation states and establish a world-wide totalitarianism under their control, we can see that the countries most advanced in the agenda are the ones that have been longest under the influence of the banking control system: the UK with it's unrelenting warmongering in Ukraine, draconian suppression of free speech and population replacement policy; Eire, Canada, Australia and New Zealand not far behind in the latter 2 of these categories, with Canada the champion in eugenics and population reduction with the MAID program and it's use for organ harvesting.
