Money - How It Became Key Means Of Exploitation And Control
Always important pillar of power since it's invention, money's ultimate weaponization started in North Italy during the renaissance. The introduction of arabic numerals and new accounting techniques supplied the tools for banking enterprises, which were so successful in extracting wealth, that they soon became a power base that challenged the purely military power, which had dominated up to that time. The process was augmented by the introduction of firearms, which required increasingly large finances, to keep up to date with technical developments.
This process enabled small city states which were dominated by the various banking family to stand up against the traditional feudal powers of their day. After the conquest of Constantinople by the Turks cut off the East-Asia trade, which had been the largest profit source for Venice and the discoveries of new maritime routes to the east, major banking groups transferred their fortunes and know how to the Netherlands. It enabled this small nation to stand up against the vast Spanish Empire and to build up a powerful navy and merchant fleet making it a major player in the new colonial exploitation of the world.
The Bankers found their final home, when they again transferred themselves, fortunes and know how to the City of London in the course of the 'Glorious Revolution' 1688 (which they had instigated). Politically independent from the English kingdom, the 'City' was the ideal location to establish the headquarters of their operation. Not accountable to anybody else, they started to subvert their host with the creation of the 'Bank of England'. In exchange for a large credit, this private enterprise obtained privileges which made it the exclusive banker to the government and prime issuer of bank notes, at that time strictly IOUs for gold/silver (see Money - How Is It Created?see Money - How Is It Created?).
This 'pole position' enabled it to increasingly take over control of the entire money system in Britain and corrupt the political system, converting it to a compliant servant of exploitation. It's insatiable hunger for more profits was the hidden driving force creating the British Empire. It's increasingly sophisticated methods of wealth extraction backing the expansion with the enormous power of ever larger accumulation of money.
That way the banking control system metastasized over a large part of the globe, with most of the subsequent wars being waged either for profit only or to eliminate a prospective competitor. After the Napoleonic wars France was eliminated as competitor and became junior partner in exploitation. The United States fought hard for over a century to obtain monetary independence - 1812, Andrew Jackson, Civil War - but was finally defeated with the creation of the Federal Reserve system in 1913. And - never missing a beat - the bankers immediately engineered WW1 to eliminate Germany as competitor and tried the same with Russia by financing the Bolshevik revolution. Initially successfull, Russia has until today resisted assimilation and is together with Iran and possibly China the only country not aligned to the banker's control matrix. Consequently they are currently the prime bogeymen of western propaganda.
